RE3 PREPARES FOR ‘ENVIRONMENTAL OSCARS’
9th September 2009
The highly coveted NIEA Sustainable Ireland Environmental Awards recognises the contribution companies and individuals make to environmental improvement.
This year, Re3 and the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Professor Deborah Boyd, are finalists for three of the top awards. They include:
- The Recycling Industry Award - The Energy and Environment Innovation Award; and, - Environmental Leader of the Year Award.
Professor Boyd said she was extremely proud of the Re3 nominations and she paid tribute to Sustainable Ireland and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency for helping to build and support environmental innovation.
Sustainable Ireland General Manager, Golda Burrows, also said “This event is a celebration of our industry – because everyone involved is doing something to protect our environment, to make it more sustainable and to ensure a future for generations to come. We believe those efforts should be rightly commended, recognised and rewarded."
The awards will be made at a luncheon in the Ramada Hotel, Shaw's Bridge, Belfast, on Thursday 17th September 2009, at 12noon.
